Newsletter 9 now out…

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is an absolute pleasure to be able to contribute to the school newsletter so soon since my arrival on 1st February as Interim Headteacher. I have had a busy few days as you can imagine trying to learn everyone’s names as the new girl! I have to say that I have been made most welcome by staff, parents and children and have seen some great learning as I walk around the school.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents, staff and school council for organising the ‘Movie Night’ last Friday. It was great to see so many children and their families coming back to school to enjoy a social time together. I know that with Mr Van Der Merwe and the re-energised PTA will be planning more fundraising events for our school community soon.

I enjoyed meeting many parents at the parents evening this week and there was great enthusiasm from parents and staff when talking about their children’s successes and next steps.

I know that as parents you are very aware of the turbulent and challenging times that St Mary and All Saints has had recently and that you rightly have high expectations for a more positive future for the school and children within it. In order to make headway with this we will be having an additional Training Day on 20th February as well as the already planned 19th February. Apologies for the late notice for this but you will not be disappointed with the impact that these 2 days together will have for staff in enabling your children to be the best they can be at the end of this year.

Looking forward to meeting more of you soon

Candida Hutchinson
