Author John Row visit school for World Book Day

What a day we had last Thursday 1st March! Although it was said to be the first day of spring, in reality we were gripped by ‘The Beast From The East’ and working hard to ensure our plans for World Book Day didn’t get too overshadowed by the weather.

We were not disappointed and have used a few words from two Year 3 pupils to sum up the day.

All the children in St Marys and All Saints C of E Primary School dressed up as their favourite book characters; Harry Potter and  Where’s Wally.  Most teachers dressed-up as well. Mrs Hughes was Alice in Wonderland, Mrs Bews was Goldilocks and Mrs Cobb was a giraffe!’ Elvie

Best of all, a famous storyteller, John Row, told us exciting stories and poems. He said there were over 300 versions of the story of Cinderella! We all had a brilliant day at World Book Day.’ Anaya
