Learning to read is one of the most important skills we teach our pupils, and developing a love of reading is one of the most valuable endeavours any young person can pick up.
Last week on Friday, we were absolutely delighted to mark the grand opening of our new school library with a visit from former pupil Ryan Bright.
Ryan works for KPMG who are also supporting our new membership of the National Literacy Trust. During a fun-filled day, he read to students, and explained just how important, and fun, reading is!
After a long period of remote and then blended learning, it’s important that we make sure that no child is falling behind in their literacy development.
By reopening our new and improved school library, we’re giving our pupils a fantastic, well-stocked place to develop reading habits in a peaceful and comfortable setting.
We’re also very excited to be joining the National Literacy Trust. Through this membership, we will gain access to cutting edge training for our staff, access to discounted books and other library resources, and access to exclusive training materials to help get every child enthused about reading!
