Why Join a Club?
Young people’s skills start to grow and evolve from an early age, and their time at school plays a significant role in shaping their attributes and personality. By taking part in our after-school clubs, students enhance their social skills and enjoy spending time with other children outside of the classroom. They also develop a range of other attributes, depending on which club they attend.
At St Mary and All Saints we offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs to our children. Generally, these are held after school until 4pm and are led by our own staff in their free time. The purpose of clubs is for children to continue their learning in a safe environment and to broaden their interests. Clubs are free to attend and each term a clubs offer letter is sent to families outlining the club, which day it runs and which year groups can join. For safety reasons some clubs have a maximum number of attendees. Clubs normally run for about ten weeks and it is important children attend unless they are absent from school. Clubs we have run recently include: choir, samba, handbells, ukulele, dance, football, rugby, rounders, cricket, tennis, multi-skills, gymnastics, books club, creative writing club, cartoon club, film club, bike club, outdoors club, cooking, gardening, art and craft club, design and making club and technology. Here are some photos from our clubs this term.
